Arby’s is sending 10 people to Hawaii for the price of a single sandwich.
You read that right. The national fast-food chain is giving people a chance to experience one of the country’s most desired vacation spots later this month through a contest that starts at noon Friday EST. The promotion known as the “Arby’s $6 Hawaiian Getaway” requires participants to act fast as it is only open to the first five people who sign up today and the first five who sign up on Monday.
Here’s how it works:
Participants must visit the promotional website today at noon and click the “purchase tickets” button when it goes live. If you’re fast enough, you’ll be one of the five people selected today to experience the trip. But let’s be honest, the likelihood of that happening is incredibly slim. It’s worth noting you must be at least 18 years old and a legal resident of the U.S.
A second drawing will start Monday at noon EST as well. Five people will also be selected on Monday.
If you are by chance one of the first five through each day you’ll have to provide all the basic information like name, address, phone number etc., along with a credit card number to buy the $6 ticket. Or you can also use the promotional code “ALOHA” for a free ticket. There is a limit of one registration per email.
The lucky winners will then be flown to Los Angeles on April 26 for a one-night stay. The next day, winners will be flown first class to Hawaii where they will have the opportunity to participate in a commercial shoot with Arby’s. They’ll also be given a gift card for $150 to cover per diem and a check for $500 after the trip is complete.
Winners will be provided airfare home at that point. The entire trip will take place from April 26-28.
While an essentially free trip to Hawaii sounds amazing, it doesn’t appear that there will be much time for sightseeing and enjoying the beauty of Hawaii. The flight from Los Angeles to Hawaii is five and a half hours each way and both flights will take place on April 27. Meaning you’ll spend nearly 11 hours of the day just in an airplane.
The website for the promotion even states “No volcanoes. No pineapple farms. Just you, sweet buns, tender meats, and a Hawaiian paradise to eat them in.”
